Pause and closing the App
There are a few ways to pause or close the App, each way has a different impact on the App status and location detection :
iOS
- Press the home key :
- App status is active and running in the background
- A blue bar will be shown on the top of the device that indicates location detection is active
- The user may press on the blue bar to return to the App
- Double-tap on the home key :
- App status becomes inactive but location detection is ongoing. The user may press on the blue bar to return to the App
- Swipe the App upwards after double-tapping the home key :
- App is closed and location detection disabled
Android
- If press the home key :
- App status is active and running in the background
- A notification will be shown in the device’s notification centre that indicates location detection is active
- The user may press on the blue bar to return to the App
- If press back button :
- App status becomes inactive
- A notification will be shown in the device’s notification centre that indicates location detection is ongoing
- The user may press on the notification to return to the App
- If press device’s “app overview” button :
- App status becomes inactive
- A notification will be shown in the device’s notification centre that indicates location detection is ongoing
- The user may press on the notification to return to the App
By any approach above, the notification message will be shown as "Crowd density information updates" which enable for user to select and return to the App
If swipe the App upwards or press “X” after pressing the device’s “app overview” button :
- App status becomes inactive
- A notification will be shown in the device’s notification centre that indicates location detection disabled
- The user may tap on the notification bar to return to the App.
By the approach above, the notification message will be shown as " GroundSage App is stopped. Tap to restart " which enable for user to select and restart the application
Click “Force close” in App information :
- App closed and location detection disabled
